Love Contract

LOVE CONTRACT

I, {Name}, entering into {marriage/partnership} with {Name} on {date}, hereby swear to adhere to the following rules and stipulations to the best of my abilities for as long as both of us live. I vow:

1. To love {Name} even when times are difficult, and to make an effort to improve tension or frustration within the marriage/partnership through clear and honest communication.
2. To grant equal consideration to both my and {Name}'s career when contemplating {finances, location, child-rearing}.
3. To take the following approach to child-bearing and child care: {Outline of parental plan, or an agreement on the plan for accidental pregnancy}.
4. To divide household chores according to the following system, and to explicitly discuss changes to this system with {Name}: {System}
5. To approach finances in the following way, and to explicitly discuss changes to this approach with {Name}: {Approach}
6. To communicate my needs and desires without deceit or malice.
7. To support {Name}'s accomplishments and goals without abandoning my own.
8. To compromise whenever possible, but to stand firm in the following beliefs and values that I hold dear: {Beliefs and values}.
9. To respect {Name}'s autonomy and agency.
10. Never to engage in infidelity.

I understand that to violate this agreement without the explicit understanding and consent of {Name} means this marriage may be subject to dissolution.
